On October 31, local time, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement confirming that its naval forces struck and detained two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz for violating imposed restrictions.
The statement indicated that the two tankers attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz under the escort of the U.S. military, ignoring warnings from the Revolutionary Guard. Additionally, four other tankers quickly altered course and retreated after receiving warnings.
Iran reiterated its warning that any actions disrupting navigation order in the region will be met with a response.
