Salesforce.com (CRM) shares surged 5.02% during Tuesday's intraday trading session, joining a broad rally across enterprise software stocks.

The move came as beaten-down software names staged a sharp rebound, benefiting from a rotation out of semiconductor and hardware stocks. Analysts noted that software valuations have fallen well below historical averages, potentially marking an inflection point where stable earnings trends could trigger a re-rating of the sector. Salesforce, which had declined 38% this year, was among the most heavily shorted stocks now seeing renewed buying interest.

Adding to the positive momentum, Salesforce recently secured a $1.6 billion contract with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to modernize healthcare and benefits systems. This follows a separate $13.5 billion defense order tied to U.S. Air Force fleet modernization, reinforcing investor confidence in the company's long-term revenue pipeline.
