South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and French President Emmanuel Macron have agreed to collaborate in the fields of nuclear power, artificial intelligence, chips, and critical mineral supply chains. The announcement was made jointly following a summit held in Seoul. President Lee stated that the two nations signed a letter of intent to cooperate in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum technology. In the nuclear energy sector, South Korea's state-owned Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) signed a memorandum of understanding with France's Orano and Framatome. This agreement will not only ensure a stable supply of raw materials for nuclear power plants but also lay the groundwork for joint entry into the global nuclear power market. Through the letter of intent on critical mineral supply chains, the two countries have established a foundation for the stable development of the core minerals industry. Both sides also agreed to work together to ensure the safety of maritime transport in the Strait of Hormuz.
