BYD Company's stock surged 5.01% during intraday trading on Tuesday, driven by significant corporate developments and a return to sales growth.
The rally follows BYD's recent intelligence strategy launch event, where the company officially unveiled the Xuanji A3, China's first 4nm vehicle-grade autonomous driving chip. Chairman Wang Chuanfu announced the chip has already entered mass production, supports L3/L4 autonomous driving, and features lower power consumption with optimized algorithms. BYD also pledged over 100 billion yuan in future R&D investment toward its intelligent driving goals and announced that all vehicle models can now be equipped with its advanced Eye of God B laser-assisted driving system at a competitive price, backed by a comprehensive safety guarantee.
Adding to the positive sentiment, the Chinese electric vehicle giant snapped its longest streak of declining sales in May, with global vehicle sales growing 0.3% year-over-year after eight months of contraction. Furthermore, BYD demonstrated strong international performance, with its sales in Italy surging 209.5% year-over-year in May, significantly outpacing the overall market growth.
