In the smartphone accessories sector, every move by Apple draws significant attention. Recently, new information has emerged regarding phone cases for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. Following the controversial FineWoven phone case episode, Apple appears ready to re-enter the premium phone case market with a fresh approach.

According to recent reports on August 21st, the new phone case material has been designated as "TechWoven." From leaked photos of the new material, TechWoven differs from FineWoven's velvet-like smoothness, instead displaying the characteristic rough texture typical of textile materials.

Industry sources indicate that Apple discontinued leather phone cases several years ago as part of its commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. Now, TechWoven is positioned to serve as a leather alternative. Based on suspected packaging prototype images, this phone case will be available in multiple color options including black, brown, blue, green, and purple.

Moreover, the case will likely be manufactured from recycled polyethylene terephthalate, a textile material created from recycled plastic bottles, making it both environmentally friendly and low-carbon.

Notably, the TechWoven phone case appears to feature design innovations. Reports suggest it will incorporate lanyard holes on both sides at the bottom, similar to Apple's silicone phone cases. More intriguingly, suspected packaging indicates "compatibility with crossbody straps," suggesting Apple may introduce a complementary accessory - a crossbody strap designed to work with the phone case.

The crossbody strap differs from conventional wrist straps, resembling more of a fashionable accessory that can be worn across the torso, though wrist straps should also be compatible with the system. This development represents Apple's continued evolution in the premium smartphone accessories market, combining environmental consciousness with enhanced functionality and style.
