Datang Power flags RMB178.16 million hit to 2025 profit after broad asset impairment and retirements

Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (Datang Power) has approved a comprehensive asset review that will reduce 2025 consolidated profit by an estimated RMB178.16 million, with net profit attributable to the parent company falling by about RMB115.25 million. The measures were endorsed at the eleventh meeting of the twelfth Board session on 27 March 2026.

Datang Power booked RMB166.26 million of new asset-impairment provisions, partly offset by RMB0.95 million of prior-year reversals. Key items include: • RMB26.18 million for obsolete spare parts at Hohhot Aluminum and Power; • RMB12.33 million against construction-in-progress at preliminary wind and photovoltaic projects in Jiangxi and Heilongjiang after policy and site-selection changes; • RMB22.45 million for doubtful receivables, mainly relating to the bankruptcy restructuring of Inner Mongolia Risheng Renewable Resources and aged heating-fee arrears in Heilongjiang; and • RMB105.30 million for the potential loss of use of Tuoketuo Power’s Kulue Tugou Phase I ash yard.

Separately, 32 subsidiaries retired fixed assets with an original cost of RMB176.38 million and a net book value of RMB9.33 million, clipping 2025 profit by the same amount and lowering parent-company net profit by RMB8.20 million. Most of the assets—power-generation equipment, transmission gear, transportation vehicles, and ageing buildings—were deemed beyond repair, obsolete after technical upgrades or safety reviews.

Three subsidiaries wrote off RMB1.19 million of inventory materials that had deteriorated or become technologically redundant, cutting profit by that amount and parent-company net profit by RMB0.72 million.

In addition, preliminary expenses of RMB11.85 million tied to halted gas-turbine and photovoltaic projects in Hebei, Tianjin, Chongqing, Zhejiang and Jiangxi were written off, slicing RMB2.32 million from total profit and RMB2.18 million from parent-company net profit.

The audit committee confirmed that all actions comply with Chinese Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises and accurately reflect Datang Power’s asset quality and operating results.
