Construction of the compact fusion energy experimental device (BEST) is progressing steadily at the Future Science City in Hefei, Anhui Province. As China's next-generation "artificial sun," the BEST facility is tasked with achieving plasma "burning." According to the research plan, once completed, the device will conduct experimental studies on deuterium-tritium burning plasma to verify its long-pulse steady-state operation capability. The target fusion power output is set between 20 megawatts and 200 megawatts, demonstrating the feasibility of fusion energy generation.
