Japan's Finance Ministry has no current plans to repurchase government bonds, according to a senior official.

Masayuki Sato, head of the debt management division at the ministry's financial bureau, stated during a seminar in Tokyo that the government is not considering a buyback of Japanese government bonds at this time.

Sato noted that the bond market environment in Japan "is not necessarily the same as that of the United States," highlighting differences in market conditions between the two countries.

His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about fiscal policy and debt management strategies in Japan, where the central bank has been a major holder of government debt.
