A recent incident involving ride-hailing platform CAOCAO INC has drawn public attention after a passenger in Shanghai reported multiple violations, including a vehicle mismatch and coercive offline transactions.

According to reports, a passenger, Mr. Huang, booked a Tesla vehicle through the Tencent出行 platform, operated by CAOCAO INC, at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. However, a BYD vehicle arrived instead. The driver claimed the originally booked car was involved in an accident. Shortly after the journey began, the driver insisted Mr. Huang complete the transaction offline, circumventing the official platform. Upon refusal, the driver stopped the car and issued a verbal ultimatum, forcing the passenger to choose between getting out immediately to find another ride or proceeding with the offline payment.

Authorities have intervened promptly. Investigations by transport law enforcement, in coordination with public security agencies, revealed that the involved vehicle lacked the proper ride-hailing operation license, and the driver did not possess the required qualifications. This case is identified as a typical instance of illegal passenger transport with neither valid vehicle nor driver certification. The relevant authorities have initiated measures to locate and apprehend the driver involved.

As of the latest updates, CAOCAO INC has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. However, the company's customer service department stated that the platform is closely monitoring and handling the matter. The driver's conduct will be assessed and addressed in accordance with the platform's relevant rules and regulations.
