Shandong Province has launched a new initiative to streamline intellectual property protection services, reducing bureaucratic hurdles for businesses. The provincial Market Supervision Administration, in collaboration with the Department of Justice and the Big Data Bureau, has issued an implementation plan aimed at simplifying key processes.

The reform targets four core areas: applying for funding support, seeking rights protection, using special geographical indication marks, and filing arbitration requests for disputes. The plan introduces a unified system where users can access all services through a single authentication, apply at one window, and complete the entire process online. This approach minimizes the need to submit duplicate documents and reduces the amount of information required from applicants, thereby cutting down processing times and simplifying procedures to enhance convenience and satisfaction for businesses.

The initiative outlines a coordinated strategy for both online and offline service delivery. Online, the entire process for intellectual property protection will be integrated into a dedicated section of the "Ai Shandong" platform under the "Efficiently Handle One Thing" feature. This integration leverages deep sharing of business registration information, workflow data, and processing results to enable end-to-end online processing. Offline, special service windows will be set up within existing zones at government service halls across the province, allowing for single-window handling of all requests.

To support the reform, the province will also roll out a unified service guide and a standardized application form template. This ensures that applicants across the province receive consistent information and follow the same procedures, with a focus on covering all needs with a single application, providing clear instructions upfront, and enabling integrated service at one window.

This push for integrated intellectual property protection reform is part of Shandong's broader efforts to implement the national "Efficiently Handle One Thing" initiative, improve the business environment, and stimulate innovation among market entities. Moving forward, the provincial Market Supervision Administration will use this reform as a key lever to deepen cross-department collaboration, continuously refine processes and data sharing, and further break down the final barriers in the intellectual property service chain. The goal is to inject new momentum into the province's efforts to build a strong intellectual property framework and support its high-quality economic and social development.
