2026 Top 500 Private Firms: Baidu Slips to 79th, Extending a Two-Year Decline

The 2026 ranking of China's top 500 private enterprises has been unveiled, with JD.com, Alibaba, and Hengli claiming the top three positions. A closer look at the list reveals that Baidu has fallen to 79th place, dropping ten spots from 69th in 2025.

Examining the three-year trend for Baidu, its position has consistently eroded: 67th in 2024, 69th in 2025, and now 79th in 2026, marking a cumulative decline of twelve places over the past two years. On the revenue front, Baidu reported 129.079 billion yuan in 2026, a decrease of 4.046 billion yuan from 133.125 billion yuan in 2025, representing a year-over-year contraction of roughly 3.04%. Compared to 134.598 billion yuan in 2024, revenue has dropped by 5.519 billion yuan, a reduction of approximately 4.10%. This marks a continued revenue shrinkage over the last two years.

In sum, Baidu's ranking and revenue both maintained a downward trajectory in 2026, with its revenue scale yet to rebound to the levels seen in 2024.
