CM BANK's Retail AUM Reaches 18 Trillion, AI Agent Transitions from Assistant to Ecosystem

On August 11, at the "2026 Wealth Partners Forum" held in Guangzhou, CM BANK announced that its retail AUM (Assets Under Management) balance had surpassed 18 trillion yuan. This figure represents an increase of over 2 trillion yuan compared to the 16 trillion yuan disclosed at the same themed forum in August 2025.

The steady growth of AUM scale continues the previous momentum. Reflecting on the 2025 forum, CM BANK had reported that retail AUM exceeded 16 trillion yuan, with a net increase of over 2 trillion yuan within one year. The 2025 annual report further showed that retail AUM stood at 17.08 trillion yuan by year-end, up approximately 2.15 trillion yuan from the end of the previous year. Breaking through 18 trillion yuan marks a further consolidation of CM BANK's leading position in the retail wealth management sector.

Wang Xiaoqing, President of CM BANK, noted in his address that the bank and its partners form an ecological community of division of labor, symbiosis, and shared prosperity. He emphasized that future cooperation will pursue "five more" aspects: more open, more focused, more professional, more warm, and more comprehensive. He stressed the need to be customer-centric, leveraging AI capabilities to upgrade systematic wealth management methodologies.

AI became another main theme of the forum. During the event, CM BANK officially launched the AI agent "AI Xiaoban" for partners, signaling an evolution of the retail service model from "people + digitalization" to "people + Agent". According to Wang Xiaoqing, the current scale of data invocation and scenario enablement within CM BANK's AI system has reached a significant level. The bank will continue to increase investment, iterate models, optimize scenarios, and connect the ecosystem. The positioning of "AI Xiaoban" is to empower partner agents. It is reported that this agent operates in coordination with "Xiao Zhao," which serves customers, and "Xiao Zhu," which assists frontline staff, collectively forming a retail intelligent application matrix covering C-end customers, B-end partners, and internal operations.

From an industry perspective, in a low-interest-rate environment, bank deposits are rapidly migrating to wealth management products such as wealth management and funds. AUM scale has become a core indicator for measuring the retail competitiveness of commercial banks. CM BANK has long been known for its retail business, and its AUM volume ranks among the top in joint-stock banks. However, the transmission from scale expansion to revenue still faces practical constraints. AUM growth does not directly equate to an increase in fee income. Against the backdrop of low fee rates and product net value fluctuations, the conversion of wealth management to intermediary income involves time lags and friction. At the same time, the actual effectiveness of the "people + Agent" model in wealth scenarios, as well as the compliance and data boundaries involved in AI's external enablement of partners, still require ongoing observation after business implementation.
