Standard Chartered PLC (STANCHART) disclosed on 2 June 2026 that it repurchased 742,984 ordinary shares on 1 June 2026 across the London Stock Exchange, CBOE BXE and CBOE CXE. The shares were bought at prices ranging from GBP 19.83 to GBP 20.17, for a total consideration of GBP 14.87 million. All shares bought back are designated for cancellation; the bank holds no treasury shares.
Issued share capital stood unchanged at 2.21 billion shares as of the close on 1 June 2026. Including earlier market purchases on 26–29 May, the group now has 3.76 million shares (approximately 0.17% of current issued shares) awaiting cancellation.
The repurchases are being executed under the authority granted by shareholders on 7 May 2026, which allows the company to buy back up to 221.63 million shares. Since the mandate was approved, STANCHART has acquired 12.36 million shares—about 0.56% of shares outstanding at mandate date—utilising roughly 5.58% of the authorised limit.
