Meta and Microsoft are working to cut back on employee use of Claude.

Microsoft had previously projected that its internal spending on Claude AI would reach $1 billion. After asking employees to reduce their use of Claude in order to save costs and to spend more time using Microsoft's own in-house AI tools, the company has lowered that spending forecast by more than one third.

The number of Meta employees using Claude Code has fallen sharply, recently standing at roughly 30,000, down from about 60,000 earlier this year.
