America's largest bank has delivered the highest quarterly profit ever recorded in the U.S. banking industry.

JPMorgan Chase disclosed that its second-quarter net profit surged 41% to $21.2 billion, or $7.70 per share, significantly exceeding analyst expectations of $5.64 per share. The company's total net revenue rose 28% year-over-year, increasing from $45 billion in the same period last year to $57 billion.

In a statement accompanying the financial results, Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon stated that the strong performance "benefited from a favorable environment with high market activity, as well as efficient team execution, years of sustained investment, and a prudent capital allocation strategy."

Dimon added, "The U.S. economy has shown remarkable resilience this year," listing multiple supportive factors: capital expenditures driven by artificial intelligence, fiscal stimulus policies, and financial regulatory easing.

However, he also cautioned about risks: "Numerous potential hazards are moving beneath the surface like tectonic plates, including geopolitical conflicts and wars, persistent high inflation, massive global fiscal deficits, and elevated asset prices. We cannot predict how these risks will ultimately unfold."

JPMorgan Chase indicated that the significant profit increase primarily stemmed from two one-time gains: a $4.6 billion net gain from the corporate division's sale of its Visa stock holdings, and an additional $1 billion in valuation gains from certain equity investments.

Even after excluding these one-time gains, the bank's $16.9 billion net profit still far surpassed market consensus expectations.

JPMorgan Chase has kicked off the earnings season for major banks, with analysts widely expecting strong performance from other large banks this quarter. A broad recovery in Wall Street businesses is providing a foundation for the industry, while the artificial intelligence boom is generating substantial financing demand, driving revenue growth in both investment banking and securities trading divisions.

Other industry giants, including Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, and Goldman Sachs, are all scheduled to release their financial results early Tuesday morning.
