SeaTwirl has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Mooreast Asia to jointly pursue opportunities for floating offshore wind power development in Southeast Asia.
This collaboration combines SeaTwirl's floating wind technology and engineering capabilities with Mooreast's expertise in offshore mooring, regional manufacturing capacity, and industrial footprint within the ASEAN region.
The companies note that Mooreast brings over three decades of experience in offshore mooring and is recognized as one of the world's largest manufacturers of drag anchors.
Under the agreement, the partnership aims to deliver integrated regional solutions covering concept development, engineering design, local manufacturing, supply chain development, installation support, and long-term operations and maintenance capabilities.
The cooperation is intended to support SeaTwirl in establishing a scalable and cost-effective industrial presence in the ASEAN market. Both parties highlight that the ASEAN market is anticipated to play an increasingly significant role in offshore renewable energy development.
The companies state that the agreement includes exclusivity commitments within the ASEAN region, contingent upon meeting business development and performance conditions. The agreement does not contain binding commercial commitments or revenue guarantees.
Johan Sandberg, CEO of SeaTwirl, commented, "Mooreast contributes extensive regional experience and industrial capabilities that complement SeaTwirl's technology platform. We are confident that together we can build a solid foundation for future floating offshore wind projects in Southeast Asia."
Eirik Ellingsen, CEO of Mooreast, added, "The ASEAN region is projected to become an increasingly vital market for offshore renewable energy. Through this collaboration, we can leverage our combined strengths to support the development of competitive floating wind solutions tailored to regional conditions."
