At the 2026 China Motorcycle Chongqing Forum, Xing Hongmei, head of the motorcycle business unit under JD.com's auto division, delivered a presentation titled "JD Motorcycle Industry Trends: Online Consumption Trends and AI Applications." She noted that consumer purchasing behavior for motorcycles has shifted increasingly online in recent years. Motorcycles, once viewed purely as a means of transportation, are now evolving into consumer goods that combine commuting, leisure, sports, and lifestyle attributes.

Discussing motorsports, Xing highlighted the profound impact racing has had on China's motorcycle market over the past two years. She specifically pointed to Zhang Xue's championship win at the WSBK this year, which brought unprecedented attention to the industry. She remarked, "While we cheer for Zhang Xue, we also want to thank him—he has reignited the passion for motorcycling among Chinese riders, reminiscent of the dream they once held." Xing revealed that JD.com has invested in motorsports for years, not only in motorcycle and four-wheel events but also across outdoor categories such as fishing, cycling, and skiing, aligning with international standards. Looking ahead, JD.com plans to expand its involvement in global events and will also organize its own competitions.

On the topic of smart technology, Xing emphasized that AI advancements have significantly transformed user experiences recently. She predicted that intelligent interaction systems will shape the future of riding, with products like Bluetooth headsets and smart helmets being early adopters. Additionally, smart ventilation systems for riding gear and other interactive features are expected to emerge. JD.com will collaborate with partner brands to co-develop these intelligent products.

Regarding after-sales services, Xing mentioned that JD.com's auto division, established in 2012, has been building maintenance stores for both four-wheeler and two-wheeler users. Currently, there are over 3,800 four-wheel maintenance stores nationwide, with a year-end target of 5,400. The company plans to replicate the success and capabilities gained from these stores to expand its two-wheeler maintenance services in the future.
