The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Commerce have jointly drafted proposed amendments to the E-commerce Law of the People's Republic of China and are now soliciting public feedback.

This initiative is part of efforts to thoroughly implement the central government's decisions on the platform economy, better protect the lawful rights and interests of all parties involved in e-commerce, further regulate the conduct of e-commerce platform operators, and promote the sustained and healthy development of the e-commerce sector.

All relevant organizations and individuals are invited to submit their comments and suggestions. The deadline for providing feedback is August 4, 2026.

There are three primary channels for submitting opinions:

First, via official websites: The public can log in to the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation (http://www.samr.gov.cn) and submit comments through the "Public Consultation" section under the "Interaction" tab on the homepage. Alternatively, they can visit the official website of the Ministry of Commerce (http://www.mofcom.gov.cn) and use the "Solicitation of Opinions" section under the "Interactive Exchange" tab.

Second, via email: Comments can be sent to dzswf@samr.gov.cn or dzswf@mofcom.gov.cn. The email subject line should clearly state: "Public Consultation on the Draft Amendments to the E-commerce Law of the People's Republic of China."

Third, via postal mail: Written submissions can be mailed to the Network Supervision Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation at No. 9 Madian East Road, Haidian District, Beijing (Postal Code: 100088), or to the E-commerce Department of the Ministry of Commerce at No. 2 Dong Chang'an Avenue, Dongcheng District, Beijing (Postal Code: 100731). The envelope should be marked with the phrase: "Public Consultation on the Draft Amendments to the E-commerce Law of the People's Republic of China."
