Hong Kong Stocks Open Lower; Tech and Internet Shares Mostly Down, While PCB and Chip Sectors Rise

Following a positive session on Wall Street led by tech shares, Hong Kong's main indices opened in negative territory.

The Hang Seng Index started the day down 0.61%, falling below the 25,000-point level to 24,978.90. The Hang Seng Tech Index declined by 0.71%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index dropped 0.88%.

Technology and internet-related stocks were mostly lower at the open. Lenovo Group bucked the trend, rising over 3%. In contrast, NetEase fell more than 3%, Bilibili dropped over 2%, and Meituan was down 2%.

PCB (Printed Circuit Board) concept stocks continued their upward momentum from the previous session, with Kingboard Laminates Holdings Ltd gaining over 3%.

The optical communications sector also extended its gains, with Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company advancing more than 2%.

Chip stocks saw broad-based increases, led by GigaDevice which climbed over 3%.

Gold stocks opened higher as well, with Lingbao Gold Group Ltd surging more than 6%.
