US Stock Futures Edge Higher While Brent Crude Continues Downward Drift

Futures on major US equity indices are pointing to a modest rebound at the opening bell, while the recent slide in oil prices shows no signs of letting up.

Contracts tracking the S&P 500 Index climbed 0.3% during early Asian trading, building on the benchmark's modest gain from the previous Friday session. Meanwhile, Nasdaq 100 futures advanced 0.4%, reflecting sustained appetite for technology shares.

Elsewhere, Brent crude futures remained under pressure, oscillating in a tight range around the $104 per barrel mark during Monday morning trading. The commodity has been caught in a seesaw of small gains and losses as traders weigh supply concerns against demand uncertainties.

In the currency space, the dollar held steady against both the Japanese yen and the Chinese yuan. With Japanese markets closed for a public holiday, liquidity conditions are notably thin, which could amplify volatility in currency movements during the session.
