On August 14, customs authorities in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, coordinated with Nanjing Lukou Airport Customs to successfully complete the first air transit export operation for 9610 e-commerce goods at Donghai County's cross-border e-commerce supervision warehouse. The cargo, upon arrival at Nanjing Lukou Airport, was immediately loaded onto international flights for overseas delivery. This marks the official launch of an air freight route for the Donghai cross-border e-commerce supervision warehouse, adding an efficient and stable "air corridor" to the region's cross-border logistics network.

Previously, cross-border e-commerce exports from Donghai County largely depended on sea freight or long-distance land transshipment, which struggled to meet the transport needs of small, lightweight items like crystal products and wearable nails. "The new channel effectively caters to order demands characterized by high frequency, small batches, and tight timeframes. It resolves pain points such as consolidation difficulties, unstable cargo space, and insufficient local services, significantly improving export customs clearance efficiency. Data shows that the volume of goods declared for export through the Donghai supervision warehouse has increased by approximately 67% year-on-year," said Zhang Lingjuan, Deputy Party Secretary and Labor Union Chair of Donghai Crystal Group.

The establishment of this channel, built on the successful experience of Yiwu, closely integrates the unique characteristics of Donghai's industrial cluster. It optimizes the integrated "advance declaration, direct transit" process. Specialty products from surrounding areas in northern Jiangsu and southern Shandong are gradually being consolidated at the Donghai supervision warehouse for unified customs clearance and air export. This creates a closed-loop supply chain of "industrial cluster aggregation - supervision warehouse consolidation - direct air hub access," propelling Donghai from a production base to a regional cross-border export consolidation hub.

It is understood that the direct air freight link between Lianyungang and Nanjing is not merely a logistics breakthrough but also represents regional coordination and regulatory innovation centered on Donghai's industrial belt. For Donghai, this serves as an accelerator for crystal exports and a crucial step in transitioning from "selling products" to "building channels and gathering resources." In the future, this "air corridor" is expected to become a vital fulcrum connecting specialty industrial clusters in northern Jiangsu and even East China to global markets, enabling more "Made in Donghai" products to reach consumers worldwide quickly and efficiently.
