Bank of America has recently highlighted Micron Technology as its most favored company in the artificial intelligence chip space, stating in a research report that the memory chip giant is poised to play a pivotal role in the development of AI computing power.

The bank's analysis projects that Micron Technology will be a primary beneficiary of the ongoing expansion in AI infrastructure spending. With global cloud computing and AI data center capital expenditure potentially growing 40% to 50% year-over-year by 2027, reaching approximately $1.5 trillion, demand for high-bandwidth memory is surging exponentially. As a leading global supplier of memory chips, Micron Technology's HBM products are an essential component of the AI hardware ecosystem.

Despite recent pullbacks in the AI chip sector due to market concerns over a potential slowdown in infrastructure spending, Bank of America views this as a strategic entry opportunity. Micron Technology benefits not only from robust HBM demand driven by AI servers, but its traditional DRAM and NAND businesses also provide additional earnings support from the recovery in the PC and smartphone markets.

Furthermore, industry trends indicate that as AI extends from model training to inference and applications, the importance of CPUs and memory chips is becoming increasingly prominent. Bank of America believes that within this structural shift, Micron Technology, leveraging its strengths in memory technology, is positioned to secure more sustained growth momentum than the market currently anticipates.
