CCB Highlights 2025 Sustainability Advances: RMB 6 Trillion in Green Loans, Inclusive Finance Hits RMB 3.83 Trillion

China Construction Bank (CCB) released its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing a broad expansion of green, inclusive and digital finance initiatives.

The bank’s outstanding green loan book rose 20.54 % year-on-year to RMB 6 trillion, accounting for 21.93 % of total lending. Over the same period, CCB underwrote 164 tranches of green and sustainability-linked bonds at home and abroad, arranging RMB 499.70 billion for issuers.

Inclusive finance remained a core pillar. Loans to small and micro enterprises increased 12.37 % to RMB 3.83 trillion, serving 3.69 million customers. The “CCB Huidongni” digital platform cumulatively served 26.6 million individual users and 15.74 million corporate users, while county-area loans surpassed RMB 6.10 trillion.

Technology financing continued to scale, with outstanding tech loans reaching RMB 5.25 trillion across 317,200 enterprises. In pension finance, assets under custody totalled RMB 2.06 trillion and 511 specialised pension outlets were in operation.

Digital transformation accelerated: 398 AI application scenarios were deployed group-wide, and combined mobile banking and CCB Lifestyle users climbed to 546 million. The bank processed 0.44 million volunteer service hours and donated RMB 136 million to public welfare initiatives during the year.

Governance structures were further reinforced. CCB kept its MSCI ESG rating at AAA, recorded no material data-security incidents and maintained a groupwide employee training coverage of 99 % with an average 212.75 training hours per employee.

Overall, the 2025 report underscores CCB’s strategy of integrating climate action, inclusive growth and digital innovation into its core business model.
