Tencent Buys Back 237,000 Shares on 18 September; Nine-Day Repurchase Tally Reaches 2.10 Million Shares

Tencent Holdings Limited disclosed that no new ordinary shares were issued on 18 September 2026, keeping its outstanding share capital unchanged at 9.10 billion shares. The company instead continued its share-buyback programme, repurchasing 237,000 shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) at prices ranging between HKD 425.2 and HKD 430.2, for a total consideration of HKD 100.45 million. All shares acquired are designated for cancellation.

Between 8 and 18 September 2026, Tencent bought back a cumulative 2.10 million shares for cancellation at volume-weighted average prices between HKD 423.85 and HKD 439.62. The aggregate repurchases in this nine-session window amount to roughly HKD 905 million and represent about 0.02 % of the company’s issued share capital of 9.10 billion shares.

Under the general mandate approved on 13 May 2026, Tencent is authorised to repurchase up to 911.80 million shares. As of 18 September 2026, the group has repurchased 46.25 million shares, utilising 0.51 % of the mandate and leaving capacity for an additional 865.55 million shares.

Following the latest transaction, Tencent’s issued share count stands at 9.10 billion, with cancellation of the repurchased shares pending. In line with Hong Kong listing rules, the company is subject to a moratorium on new share issues or treasury-share sales until 18 October 2026.
