Cherish every inch of land to foster high-quality development. Today, June 25th, marks the 36th National Land Day, a time to review achievements.

The region's total cultivated area has reached 175,500 mu, with a permanent basic farmland area of 116,900 mu. This surpasses the protection targets of 167,700 mu for cultivated land and 115,500 mu for permanent basic farmland, achieving a net increase in cultivated land resources on a significant scale.

The farmland protection efforts in the Xuzhuang Sub-district within the jurisdiction have received provincial-level commendation and a special fund reward of 2 million yuan.

For two consecutive years, the Medical High-Tech Zone (Gaogang District) has ranked first in the Category I region for farmland protection assessment. It has been recognized by the Taizhou Natural Resources and Planning Bureau as an area with outstanding achievements in farmland protection work. Fourteen towns and villages across the district have been rated as municipal-level farmland protection incentive units.

Behind this commendable report card lies a series of practical measures implemented across the district to comprehensively reinforce the responsibility for farmland protection.

The district strictly implements the joint responsibility of the Party and government for farmland protection and food security. It scientifically and reasonably decomposes and assigns the protection targets for cultivated land and permanent basic farmland to various towns (sub-districts). Through joint efforts by the Party and government and coordination between higher and lower levels, a farmland protection responsibility system that is "thorough vertically and comprehensive horizontally" has been established.

Based on the preliminary results of the special plan for farmland protection and utilization, the district deepens the integration and connection with the forest land protection and utilization plan and the overall territorial spatial plan. It coordinates the delineation of farmland protection space, continuously enhancing the capacity for integrated governance of farmland and forest spaces and the level of refined management.

Officials and the public work in unison to build a collaborative governance force. The district has launched a "Natural Resources Lecture Hall," focusing on key areas such as farmland protection policies and regulations, control requirements for "non-agricultural use" and "non-grain use," and prevention of illegal land use. It has cumulatively trained over 500 town and village cadres, continuously addressing practical difficulties at the grassroots level and comprehensively improving the performance capabilities of frontline officials.

The district solidly advances the special campaign of "Farmland Protection Enters Ten Thousand Villages," forming "Farmland Protection Publicity Teams." These teams use local dialect to explain policies and real-life examples to illustrate principles, ensuring policies not only "enter" people's homes but also "take root" in their hearts.

It is hoped that the whole society will cultivate a conscious awareness of cherishing land, protecting land, and using land intensively. Protect cultivated land as you would protect a precious homeland, so that every inch of fertile soil can nurture the hope of a bountiful harvest and empower high-quality development.
