Roblox has announced the launch of a new mobile creation tool called "Build," which enables users to generate playable game prototypes directly within the Roblox app using simple text descriptions. This move represents a significant step for Roblox in the field of AI-driven creation.

The "Build" tool is designed to lower the barrier to game creation, allowing all users to turn their ideas into reality. Its workflow is straightforward: after inputting a text prompt, the system uses multiple AI models to generate a playable starting point for a game, encompassing game mechanics, environments, characters, visual style, and sound effects. Creators can then iterate, test, and publish their games on mobile devices, much like they would using Roblox Studio, the company's free PC-based development tool. Roblox Corporation (RBLX) founder and CEO David Baszucki stated this will enable "faster iteration and fewer technical constraints," thereby fostering greater creativity.

In addition to the "Build" tool for the general public, Roblox is preparing a more advanced suite of agent tools for professional creators, expected to launch in the coming months. These tools include a game testing agent that can automatically find bugs before launch, an analytics agent that allows for querying game data using natural language, and an experimentation agent to help optimize player engagement and retention.

The basic version of "Build" will be offered for free, with a paid option available for users with higher demands. Starting July 28th, users in New Zealand will be the first to experience some of the testing features, including game publishing capabilities. During the test period, the feature will be available to age-verified users aged 9 and above, while games that pass safety reviews will be playable by users aged 16 and above globally.
