Data from the State Administration for Market Regulation, released on August 8, reveals that new enterprises in emerging industries and new business sectors continued to gain momentum in the first half of 2026, with 116,000 new companies established in the humanoid robot field, marking a 9.5% year-on-year increase. The service sector showed notable operational highlights, while manufacturing enterprises accelerated their transformation, resulting in a vibrant industrial landscape.

New enterprises in emerging industries and new business sectors continued to add momentum. In the first half of the year, 561,000 new companies were established across the "8 major emerging industries and 9 future industries," maintaining a steady growth trend. Certain cutting-edge fields experienced explosive growth, with 55,000 new enterprises in the generative artificial intelligence sector, up 28.0% year-on-year, and 116,000 new enterprises in the humanoid robot sector, a 9.5% increase.

The service sector showed prominent operational highlights, with 3.957 million new service enterprises, remaining flat compared to the same period last year. Traditional commercial enterprises saw steady growth, with 1.737 million new enterprises in the wholesale and retail sector, a 2.9% year-on-year increase. New consumption formats thrived, with 31,000 new enterprises related to the "silver economy" industry, up 16.0% year-on-year. The cultural tourism industry saw 1.475 million new related enterprises, maintaining a rapid growth trend. The number of "famous, special, excellent, and new" individual businesses reached 184,000.

The pace of transformation and upgrading in the manufacturing sector accelerated. The equipment manufacturing industry moved toward high-end development, with 28,000 new enterprises in high-end equipment manufacturing, a 2.5% year-on-year increase. Within this, intelligent equipment manufacturing grew by 6.4%, and urban rail equipment manufacturing increased by 4.4%. The high-tech manufacturing sector showed strong growth momentum, with the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises reaching 330,000 by the end of June, and 15,000 new enterprises established in the first half of the year. Among these, new enterprises in spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing surged by 185.7% year-on-year, optical fiber and cable manufacturing grew by 129.4%, and integrated circuit manufacturing increased by 24.2%.
