On August 15, a topic titled "Mother and daughter abducted, father deceived into 11 years of unpaid labor" trended on social media, drawing widespread public attention.

The story centers on a woman named Jin Jun, born in 1989. She was meant to have a childhood filled with schooling and reading, but her life took a drastic turn in the winter of 1994. At just five years old, while traveling at night with her mute mother, they were forcibly taken by two unknown men, abducted and sold into a rural village in Shanxi Province. After being resold multiple times, they were eventually taken in by a family surnamed Han.

In her new home, Jin Jun was forced to change her name and, from a young age, labored under heavy farm work and household chores, missing out on any chance for an education. The days of living under someone else's roof were filled with torment. The inability to confide in her mother and the distant bond with her foster father left her childhood steeped in loneliness. She constantly yearned for her biological father, hoping he would come to take her back.

In November 2025, a shocking phone call from her cousin Jin Yong brought news: Jin Jun's long-lost father had been found. The clue came from a routine police check in Yuncheng, Shanxi. During a comprehensive population governance operation, officers discovered a man named Jin Fuchun at a cement mixing station in a building materials market. The ID card he presented was a first-generation ID, long since discontinued, which raised suspicion among the staff. The local police contacted Jin Yong.

After 31 years apart, the father and daughter, separated for half a lifetime, were finally reunited. Jin Jun wept to her white-haired father, "I've suffered so much looking for you all these years. Everyone else has a father to love them, but I had no one." Through their conversation, Jin Jun learned that her father had not given up seeking her. He had been tricked by human traffickers into working at a gold mine in Henan Province. Later, hearing that his wife and daughter might be in Shanxi, he traveled there, drifting from place to place.

In truth, both Jin Jun and her father had been in Shanxi for years, separated by only a few hundred kilometers, yet kept apart as if by a chasm, unable to meet. Jin Fuchun had worked at the cement mixing station for 11 years without ever receiving any wages. The company's initial explanation was that they had "kindly taken him in all along." With the intervention of relevant authorities, the company involved negotiated with the father and daughter and eventually paid Jin Fuchun a lump sum of 380,000 yuan for the 11 years of unpaid wages.

Now, Jin Jun has moved her father into her new home in the county town, vowing to care for him in his later years. The human traffickers who abducted Jin Jun and her mother have also been brought to justice under the law.
