14:04 ET - BP's plans to acquire truck-stop operator TravelCenters of America is likely to strengthen Nikola's efforts to create a hydrogen fueling network to support its hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks. The British oil company says one of the primary attractions of TravelCenters is the opportunity for BP to expand retail sites for alternative-fuel vehicles, including battery-electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles. TravelCenters is already partnering with Nikola on two of Nikola's first hydrogen fueling stations near Los Angeles. Nikola wants to establish 60 hydrogen stations over the next three years. Nikola falls 3.2% at $2.59. (robert.tita@wsj.com; @bob_tita)
