Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Open Week Lower in Monday Trading

Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts started the week on a down note Monday morning, declining 0.89% to 2,039.03 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by online education platform 51Talk Online Education Group (COE) and mobile app developer Cheetah Mobile (CMCM), which rose 2% and 2.6% respectively. They were followed by financial services company CNFinance (CNF) and computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN), which were up 3% and 4.2% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by electric vehicle maker NIO (NIO) and polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy (DQ), which fell 6.6% and 4.6% respectively. They were followed by ecommerce company Baidu (BIDU) and online entertainment service iQIYI (IQ), which dropped 5.7% and 5.5% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY) and business process management company WNS (WNS), which rose 3.3% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY) and financial services company HDFC Bank (HDB), which were up 1.2% and 0.1% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by biotech firm ASLAN Pharmaceuticals (ASLN), which plunged 41.7%, followed by tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which fell 3.2%. They were followed by telecommunications operators Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and PLDT (PHI), which were down 1.8% and 1.3% respectively.
