Medirom Healthcare Technologies (MRM) said Monday that NFES Technologies agreed to be the lead investor in Medirom Mother Labs' series A financing round.
NFES Technologies' participation in the financing round, which values Mother Labs at 9 billion yen ($62.5 million) on a pre-money basis, is expected to attract additional investors, Medirom said.
The company said NFES Technologies will get the series A shares as a third-party allotment.
Shares of Medirom soared more than 178% in premarket activity Monday.
