S&P Rates Marubeni's Senior Bonds BBB+

S&P Global Ratings has given a BBB+ long-term issue credit rating to Marubeni's (TYO:8002) US dollar senior unsecured bonds, according to a Wednesday release.

The bonds' rating is equivalent to Marubeni's long-term issuer credit rating, based on S&P's view that the bonds will not be significantly subordinated to other debt and will likely increase the company's offshore investors and diversify its funding sources.

The Japanese general trading and investment company's rating considers its strong business base, increased earnings generation ability and prudent financial policy, which balance its performance and operating cash flow that are sensitive to global economic shifts.

Marubeni's shares fell more than 3% in recent trade.
