Polaris is recalling almost 21,000 vehicles due to faulty winches and fire hazards in fuel tanks, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The company is recalling 10,300 Sportsman ATVs and 3,200 fuel pumps, saying the ATV can leak fuel at the fuel pump flange outlet, posing a fire hazard and risking serious injury to the rider or passenger.

Polaris is also recalling 10,500 Ranger and Crew recreational off-road vehicles and 1,300 winches. The winch wiring can overheat while in use, possibly leading to a fire.

For both sets of recalls, the CPSC said that the recommended remedy is a free repair of the product at a Polaris dealer.

For the Ranger and Crew ROVs, the company said it has received one report of a fire, while the ATVs have led to 14 reports of fuel leaking from the recalled ATVs and three reports of fire. No injuries were reported for any vehicle.
