KMD Brands (NZE:KMD, ASX:KMD) said Brooke Farris has resigned as chief executive officer of its surfing brand, Rip Curl, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.

KMD Brands Group CEO Michael Daly will act as interim Rip Curl chief executive during the transition, the filing stated. An external global search has begun for Farris' successor.

KMD Brands' shares were down 2% in recent trade.
