Athena Technology Acquisition Corp. II (ATEK) said late Monday that it recently received an opinion from its accounting firm that included an explanatory paragraph related to the company's ability to continue as a going concern.
In its Form 10-K for the year ended Dec. 31, 2023, filed last month, Athena's accounting firm said that if the blank-check company is unable to complete a business combination by Dec. 14, it will cease all operations except for the purpose of liquidating.
"The date for mandatory liquidation and subsequent dissolution raise substantial doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern," according to the paragraph contained in the Form 10-K.
