TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President-elect Prabowo Subianto plans to unveil the composition of his ministerial cabinet for the 2024-2029 executive term on Sunday evening, October 20, according to Secretary General of Prabowo's Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani.

"The cabinet will be announced after a state dinner," he told the media at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Saturday, October 19, 2024, Antara reported.

He then noted that after being sworn in as the eighth president at the complex's Nusantara Building on Sunday, Prabowo would head to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta to meet with the seventh president, Joko Widodo or Jokowi.

"According to the plan, Pak Jokowi will arrive at the palace first. After that, he will greet the newly inaugurated president," said the chair of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR).

He also said Jokowi would leave the presidential palace for his hometown of Solo in Central Java province after all state processions were completed.

Prabowo, who currently serves as defense minister, recently took steps to advance the formation of his new cabinet.

On October 14 and 15, the president-elect hosted 108 individuals who have been nominated for ministerial, deputy ministerial, and agency head positions at his residence in Jakarta.

Among those invited were Indonesia's ambassador to the UN, Arrmanatha Nasir; the acting governor of Central Papua, Ribka Haluk; human rights activist Natalius Pigai; the grand imam of the Istiqlal Mosque, Nasaruddin Umar; badminton legend Taufik Hidayat; celebrity and businessman Raffi Ahmad; musician Yovie Widianto; and 16 incumbent ministers.

On October 14 and 15, the President-elect hosted 108 individuals nominated for ministerial, deputy ministerial, and agency head positions at his residence in Jakarta.

On October 18, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and Communications and Information Technology Minister Budi Arie Setiadi, who were also summoned by Prabowo, announced that the president-designates would undergo a three-day orientation at the military academy in Magelang, Central Java.
