1129 GMT - Credit Agricole S.A. has many options in Italy, an important market for the bank, but won't comment on mergers and acquisitions potential in the country, the lender's deputy CEO said. Jerome Grivet was responding to a question about the French bank's openness to larger opportunities in Italy in an earnings conference call. Credit Agricole is constantly assessing the situation to see what is relevant for the group, he said. "I'm not going to say in advance what I want to do, I prefer to comment [on] what I did," he added. Credit Agricole owns a 9% stake in Italian lender Banco BPM. Shares fall 5.7% to 13.5 euros after what analysts described as mixed third-quarter results. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
