Meridian Energy (NZE:MEL, ASX:MEZ) said its retail sales volumes fell 0.6% year on year in October, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
By segment, sales fell 0.5% in residential and 0.4% in small and medium businesses, the filing said. Agricultural and corporate sales slid 3.5% and 3%, respectively. Sales increased almost 21% in large business.
National electricity demand declined 4.4%. National hydro storage increased to 139% from 115% of the historical average. Total inflows for the month were 128% of the historical average.
