Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) expects pre-tax earnings for the first half of the financial year 2025 to be between NZ$120 million and NZ$160 million, according to a Monday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
The guidance includes about NZ$10 million of unused travel credit breakage, NZ$30 million of compensation from engine manufacturers, and a NZ$20 million gain on the sale and leaseback of four A320 aircraft, the filing said. It also assumes an average jet fuel price of $91 per barrel.
The airline plans to provide full-year guidance once trading and operating conditions are stable, according to the filing.
Shares rose almost 2% in Australian morning trade Monday and nearly 1% in New Zealand.
