Barnes & Noble Education named Jason Snagusky as chief financial officer, effective Jan. 4, succeeding Kevin Watson, who is resigning.

The company, which operates bookstores at universities, also said that Chief Accounting Officer Seema Paul is leaving the company, effective Dec. 27, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.

Snagusky, age 44, has served as the company's senior vice president of treasury, loss prevention and procurement since April 2023. He has held other roles at the company including treasury analyst and assistant treasurer.

As part of Watson's resignation, Barnes & Noble Education will pay a lump cash severance of $270,000 and continued healthcare coverage, in exchange for a release of claims against the company, according to the filing.

Watson and Paul are the latest top executives to leave. In September, Barnes & Noble Education's chief legal officer, Michael Miller, also resigned from the company.

The departures all come after the company named a new chief executive, Jonathan Shar, in June.
