Deutsche Lufthansa's maintenance business, Lufthansa Technik, will build a new facility south of Porto in Portugal to add to the company's capacity to repair engine parts and plane components.
The new multi-million euro facility is expected to be constructed by the end of 2027 and create more than 700 jobs, the company said Monday.
The 54,000 square-meter facility will be built in Santa Maria da Feira, where the company bought a 230,000 square-meter property at the Lusopark business park, Lufthansa Technik said.
It added that the facility would be the first in its history in the country.
