Exurbs are considered to be charming, smaller towns situated beyond the suburbs yet within commuting distance of a major metropolitan area. The rise of hybrid work has spotlighted hidden-gem cities like Manchester, where home values rose 7.3% to $415,000. Manchester has garnered particular attention from potential buyers outside of its metro area. Despite this, Manchester still remains more affordable than nearby Boston. Toledo, Ohio, was the most popular large city, with homes at $121,000, highlighting the trend toward affordability and lifestyle balance.
