Gasoline prices in most of Southern California rose for the third week straight, according to the Auto Club's Weekend Gas Watch.
California's statewide average for a gallon of self-serve gasoline was $4.38/gal Thursday, which is 3cts higher than a week ago, and 27cts lower than a year ago. The national average price remains steady at $3.06/gal, unchanged from the previous week, AAA reported.
Orange County saw the highest increase in the Southern California area last week, with an increase of 6cts to $4.40/gal.
Following with the second highest increase is Los Angeles-Long Beach, San Bernadino and Ventura. The areas all saw prices rise by 4cts to $4.45/gal, $4.35/gal and $4.50, respectively.
Drivers in Riverside saw a 3ct increase at the pump to $4.32/gal, 24cts lower than the levels seen this time last year.
San Diego drivers are paying roughly 2cts more than the prior week at $4.51/gal, while Santa Barbara motorist pocketed 1ct on the week.
Refiner run rates inched up to 85.4% on the week, climbing from the prior week's 83.3% total, according to EIA data.
