The number of new homes consented in New Zealand rose 4.8% year on year to 3,100 in November 2024, Stats NZ data showed Monday.
"While the number of homes consented each month has fluctuated, the trend has remained relatively steady for the last year," economic indicators spokesperson Michael Heslop said.
Approved stand-alone houses fell 4.1% to 1,402, while multi-unit homes consented climbed 14% to 1,698.
Excluding seasonal effects, the number of new homes consented in November rose 5.3% month on month, rebounding from a 5.2% decline in October.
In the 12 months to November, new homes consented dropped 12% to 33,609.
