1823 ET - Sonos' new leader is taking on a lot of responsibilities. Interim CEO Tom Conrad is eliminating the chief product officer role and said the product organization will report directly to him. Conrad in a note to employees cited his product background as a reason the CPO role, held by Maxime Bouvat-Merlin, at Sonos would be redundant. Conrad's past stints include serving as CPO at Quibi and vice president of product at Pandora. The maker of premium wireless speakers and other audio products is in the midst of a serious shakeup in the last two days alone, starting with Patrick Spence stepping down as CEO. Bouvat-Merlin agreed to stay on as an adviser to Conrad for a time during the transition. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
