Hazer Group (ASX:HZR) met its first key progress milestone, enabling payment of AU$2.2 million under a financial assistance agreement, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

Hazer was awarded AU$6.2 million of grant funding by the government of Western Australia under the Lower Carbon grants program - Gorgon fund, which provides funding for local innovations and projects that support decarbonization, it had said earlier.

The funds will support the commercial scale-up of the firm's mineral processing technology, the filing said.
