Flights continued to be cancelled in the U.S. on Wednesday, as the historicwinter storm that hit Louisiana, Texas and other Gulf Coast states continued spreading for a second day.
As many as 69% of departures out of New Orleans Wednesday have been cancelled. So far today there have been 1,292 U.S. flight cancellations within, into, or out of the United States and more than 900 delays, according to the flight tracking website FlightAware.

Airports in Houston suspended operations Tuesday but are due to reopen at 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Precipitation from the storm is set to continue through Wednesday morning for the Gulf Coast and Southeast “with areas of heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected from northern Florida northeast to the North Carolina Outer Banks,” according to the National Weather Service.
