Compass Minerals (CMP) said Tuesday it has appointed Patrick Merrin as its chief operations officer, effective March 3, and Peter Fjellman as chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Merrin, who previously served as executive vice president of technical services at Lundin Mining, will oversee operations at Compass Minerals' 12 production and packaging sites in the US, Canada, and the UK, the company said.

Fjellman, who succeeds Jeff Cathey, previously served as senior vice president of finance for Americas and Asia Pacific at GXO Logistics (GXO), Compass Minerals added.

Compass Minerals shares were up nearly 3% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
