Cummins (CMI) and Liberty Energy (LBRT) said Wednesday they expect to deploy in H1 a natural gas variable speed, large displacement engine for Liberty's digiPrime hydraulic fracturing platform.
The companies said they will use Cummins HSK78G natural gas engine, which has been refined to improve its response time and load acceptance.
The HSK78G natural gas engine was first introduced in March 2019 for power generation. The companies formed a strategic partnership in June to create a new technology for the completions services sector, according to a joint statement.
