TPG Telecom (ASX:TPG) said its regional network sharing arrangement with Optus is now in effect, more than doubling its mobile coverage in the country to more than one million square kilometers, according to a Thursday statement from the company.

The arrangement will give TPG Telecom access to 2,500 mobile towers on Optus' regional mobile network, increasing its coverage to over 98% of the Australian population, per the statement.
